The youngest of five in a music-centered family, it’s not surprising that Sumter, SC native Jake Singleton was born with a set of drum sticks in his hands. In 2006, at the age of 14, Jake became the main drummer at his home church, and by 2009 he had joined his first band. Jake moved to Nashville in 2012 to try and make it in music playing drums for a progressive hard rock/metal band. But it wasn’t until 2015, when Jake met Michael David Hall while playing in separate bands on a restaurant patio, that the direction of his career began to take shape. Stowing his sticks for a Fender P Bass, these days Jake can be found holding down the low end for Levon, a 70’s inspired trio with an emphasis on harmony-driven style built around compelling lyrics and memorable melodies: music with a timeless quality. Between tours opening for REO Speedwagon and Styx with Levon, you can catch Jake filling in on either bass or drums for a span of Nashville based artists.
